[He's dead, Jim] Systemcore fails to boot with burn marks on pcb

Our systemcore died just before its first competition. It failed to boot on the robot.
There were 2 loose screws inside rattling around.

Damage

The chassis screw terminal sheared off.

There is a burnt trace by the usb ports.

There is a burnt trace by the CAN ports.

There are some burn marks near the Vin and some toasty caps.

I'm assuming this unit had short screws going into the plastic which came loose. Can you confirm that the threadlocked screws going into standoffs were still attached properly?

The root cause of the failure is likely a short caused by one of the loose screws bridging exposed parts of the pcb.

The mechanical aspects of Systemcore have been significantly upgraded in the newer hardware. We will detail the changes soon.

Can you confirm that the threadlocked screws going into standoffs were still attached properly?

2 of the (smallest) screws holding the pcb onto the plastic faceplate were the ones that were out.
