Spring Boot 4 Support

Are there plans to support Spring Boot 4 any time soon? It looks like at the very least, the Pebble dependency needs to be adjusted to support Spring Boot 3 vs Spring Boot 4.

I think we can upgrade pebble to support spring boot 4, better we get rid of pebble and use some other library or vanilla template. The change needs to be tested and verified before we can merge, if its issue we can create seperate branch of 4.x

Is anybody solving issue? Should I take a look on upgrading Pebble and adjusting of Spring Boot packages/dependencies so they are compatible with Spring Boot 4?

Opened PR - #278 Tests are passing locally, our integration test in our codebase running against SNAPSHOT version also passed. Small number of tests was affected by Jackson 3 movement. Hope contribution will help 😊

We are definitely blocked on upgrading to Spring Boot 4 right now. Hoping we can get support from this library very soon.

My apologies for the delay. I’ve released a snapshot version, but the latest Maven no longer supports snapshot dependencies. Please use version 4.0.0-SNAP-RELEASE instead. Please report any issue here, we can make the fix asap.

NP, thank you. Incorporated 4.0.0-SNAP-RELEASE into our project and looks OK to me, tests are passing. Cannot test on real environment as we are still blocked by different library.

Testing seems good for our apps, everything is working well on the 4.0.0-SNAP-RELEASE release.

I do think, strictly speaking, you should upgrade to pebble-spring7, per my earlier comment, since that it meant to be used with Spring 7, which Rqueue is now using.

UPDATE: I see that you've upgraded to pebble-spring7 on the master branch 👍
